Automata is a top Sydney restaurant located in Chippendale. Helmed by Head Chef Clayton Wells who brings a movable approach to a frequently changing menu. For lunch we offer the option between a 3 or 5 course menu, and for dinner a 5 or 7 course menu. Components stem from Clayton’s varied background at some of Australia and Europe’s dining institutions. Menus are formulated with freedom and energy that translates into the dining room, with beverages and pairings beyond wine. The warehouse style space along Kensington Street includes a mezzanine and communal tables.
On the 14th of October, our next co.lab event - Boon Luck Club, will hit Automata with Belle's Hot Chicken's Morgan Mcglone, Trisha Greentree and produce from Boon Luck Farm's Palisa Anderson.

Automata, have joined forces with champion Australian indie brewery, Modus Operandi Brewing Co for an exclusive dinner during Sydney Beer Week on Tuesday 30th October. Modus founder Grant Wearin and chef Clayton Wells will guide the diners through the 4 course tasting menu and shed light on the processes and insights that result in such sought after flavours. Our sister restaurant is now officially open. An all-day eatery on the ground floor of The Old Rum Store in Chippendale, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
