A new nationwide fundraising initiative lands in aid of the Syrian crisis.
Food brings people together, and none the more so than when there is a good cause involved – like the #CookForSyria campaign which will shortly launched Down Under. The initiative acts in assistance of UNICEF Australia’s Syria Crisis Appeal for Children, which will integrate a month-long campaign beginning on Monday, February 27.
The launch party will be held over a charity dinner held at Three Blue Ducks in Rosebery, where some of the sunburnt nation’s top chefs will be participating. They include Kylie Kwong (Billy Kwong), Peter Gilmore (Bennelong and Quay), David Thompson (Long Chim), Ross Lusted (The Bridge Room), Paul Carmichael (MomofukuSeiōbo) Darren Robertson, Mark LaBrooy and Andy Allen (Three Blue Ducks), Mat Lindsay (Ester), Clayton Wells (Automata), Luke Powell (LP’s Quality Meats) and Mitch Orr (Acme & Bar Brose). Syrian sister chefs, Sharon and Carol Salloum (Almond Bar) will also be producing traditional Syrian fare for the meal.
